Dr. Matt Berry became the executive director of KYSTATS in March 2023, after spending nearly two years as the organization’s research director. His prior work experiences include Evolve502/55,000 Degrees, where he served as chief scholarship and policy officer and director of strategy and impact, and the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, as a senior researcher and policy analyst. From 2011 to 2019, Berry was an adjunct lecturer at the University of Louisville. His community and volunteer work includes serving on the Academies of Louisville Guiding Team, as a program faculty advisor with the University of Louisville College of Education and Human Development, and on the Racial Equity Advisory Council for Jefferson County Public Schools. He has also authored several peer-reviewed and policy publications and served on numerous boards and committees across the Commonwealth. Dr. Berry lives in Louisville with his wife and two children.
