Welcome to the KYSTATS Blog!

Posted on: 05/01/2023

Over the past 10 years, the Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS) has become nationally known for its dashboards and analyses using data from the Kentucky Longitudinal Data System and Labor Market Information branch. While our team will continue to use and evolve the dashboard format, we are pleased to release a new, narrative format to present our data.

With our blog, we will explore trends in the labor force and the education continuum, provide in-depth looks at our dashboards and the data they contain, and share other timely updates about our work. All of what you see here will follow with our 2023-25 Research Agenda, which means you will find the following themes interwoven into our work:

  •           Access, Usage, and Usability: Leveraging the KLDS to evaluate outcomes for institutions, policies, and programs over time and across systems and sectors.
  •           Equity: Examining how our education and workforce systems are impacted by differences in backgrounds, experiences, opportunities, and access.
  •           Trends and Transition Points: Exploring whether and how Kentucky and its residents are impacted by significant one-time or ongoing events.
  •           Modeling and Predictive Analytics: Making connections between key transition points in the birth through workforce continuum and assessing their likely impact on outcomes across systems and over time.

We are committed to publishing new posts on the blog throughout the year and hope you will follow along. If you would like to receive email alerts when new blogs and reports post, please subscribe to our email distribution list
